News: J. Cole Shuts Down ‘I Disappointed Nas’ Rumors: “You’ve Already Ruined The Surprise” [Video]

Roc Nation rapper J. Cole has stepped forward to put an end to online chatter about having a song on his upcoming Born Sinner album entitled “I Disappointed Nas.”

Cole laughed off the rumored track title and immediately kill its authenticity.

“‘I Disappointed Nas,’ [laughs] Please put this out tonight and tell them that’s not the title of the song,” Cole said in an interview. “That’s terrible. That’s why I don’t like playing songs for people early too, because I’m into surprises. And you’ve already like kind of ruined the surprise and murdered the title. ‘I Disappointed Nas.’ And that’s my man, too. Bro’s probably gonna look at it like, ‘Jesus Christ.’” (Soul Culture UK)

Earlier in the week, Hot 97′s Peter Rosenberg said the song stemmed fromNas revealing how upset he was after hearing Cole’s “Work Out” anthem back in 2011.

“J. Cole’s album is supposed to be dope. His production has supposedly improved quite a bit,” Rosenberg said during his morning show this week. “And here’s a tidbit I heard a while ago that’s pretty exciting. Supposedly, there’s a song on the J. Cole called something along the lines of, ‘I Disappointed Nas,’ about how Nas supposedly reached out to J. Cole after he heard ‘Workout,’ and was like, ‘Nah fam, I expected more from you from this.’ And supposedly J. Cole gets really personal and has a whole song about how it felt to have disappointed one of his heroes in music, Nas. The second I heard this, it got me incredibly antsy to hear this. I think that’s one of the things I’ve been wanting to really hear from J. Cole. It’s more of him and his story. So I need to hear that. His album comes out June 18th, I’ve heard nothing but good things. So let’s see if this song actually ends up being on the album. That’s what I heard, you can expect from J. Cole. A couple summers ago, the North Carolina native dropped his Cole World “Work Out” track.

As J. Cole previously promised on Ustream, once he got the sample cleared soon after fans would get his new single. That happened today, so here’s the first look, “Work Out” which samples Kanye West‘s “The New Workout Plan” with an interpolation of Paula Abdul‘s “Straight Up” on the two-year anniversary of his standout The Warm Up mixtape. Also see some people are confused about “Who Dat”, last year it was the single but as what happens a lot of times things change and a different direction is chosen, that’s hip hop. (Miss Info TV)

On his recently released “Cole Summer” track, Cole makes reference to a work-related issue he had with Roc Nation boss Jay-Z.

As he nears completion on his sophomore album, J. Cole takes a break from recording to remind us that he’s coming with heat this summer. On the soulful “Cole Summer,” the self-proclaimed “cheap ass ni**a” raps about throwing thousands in the strip club with Drake (“The difference is I’m throwing 4, he throwing 50″), Jay-Z’s orders to record with Stargate (“That shit was like detention now”), and dreams of Tia and Tamera Mowry. The cover is a reference to his mother, who used to work at the post office. “I told her quit her job, but hold your horses/ If my next album flop, it’s back to the post office, both of us,” he raps over a sample of Lauryn Hill‘s “Nothing Even Matters.” (Rap-Up)

News: After “New Slaves” Premiere, Kanye West Announces Next Global Shocker

A week after Kanye West shocked the world with a global unveiling of his “New Slaves” Yeezus anthem, the Def Jam star is reportedly set to pull off the same stunt Friday (May 24) night.

According to reports, Ye will not premiere a new track and instead use the opportunity to push his “New Slaves” anthem even more.

Last Friday, Kanye West debuted his new song “New Slaves” by projecting its video on 66 buildings across the world. Now, seven days later, an updated map has gone live on the rapper’s website with a new set of locations and times not included in the first premiere. The first projection is set to take place in Europe later this evening. It’s unclear whether Kanye will be projecting “New Slaves” or a brand new song/video. Update: According to Def Jam France, Kanye will again be projecting “New Slaves”. (Consequence of Sound)

Much like last week, Ye hopped onto his Twitter page to break the news.

First lady Michelle Obama lands at number four on this year’s Forbes magazine’s “Most Powerful Women” list, which ranks the top 100 most powerful women in the world.

The Forbes list contains political leaders, philanthropists, celebrities and CEOs. The top 100 women are ranked based on money, their media presence, and impact over the last 12 months.

Mrs. Obama has been actively fighting childhood obesity with her Let’s Move nationwide initiative, encouraging school-aged kids to eat healthy and stay active.

The mother of two actively joined the fight against gun violence early in 2013, attending Chicago shooting victim Hadiya Pendleton’s funeral and speaking at conferences to help gain support for her husband’s new gun control measures, which Congress ultimately failed to pass.

Outside of politics this year, Michelle Obama made a funny appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and announced the Academy Award for best picture.

Topping the 2013 “Most Powerful Women” list is German Chancellor Angela Merkel (No. 1), Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff (No. 2), and Melinda Gates, Co-chair of the Bill Melinda Gates Foundation (No. 3).

During an interview with theGrio the cast of “The Hangover Part III” talked about the influence of hip-hop music on the film franchise and also the movies’ ability to resonate well with diverse audiences

The Hangover Part III, in theaters this weekend, is the epic conclusion to an adventure of mayhem and disaster that has captured the attention of film lovers for the past four years.

The final installment of The Hangover brings friends Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis together again to kidnap Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong) and fend off a murderous gangster played by John Goodman.

The Hangover Part III also features Mike Epps reprising his role as the drug dealer Black Doug seen in the first movie.

“I’m glad that they brought me back,” Epps said during a recent interview.  “I’m playing a black guy again in the movie.”

During an interview with theGrio, the cast of The Hangover Part III talked about the influence of hip-hop music on the film franchise and also the movies’ ability to resonate well with diverse audiences.

“The series have really utilized some really great hip-hop, like Kanye [West], they’ve used a couple Kanye songs,” Jeong said. “I think they’ve actually done an amazing job with the soundtrack. It’s really iconic when you’re playing Kanye in the first movie and you’re going into Vegas. I love that sequence.”

When asked why The Hangover films seem to have crossover appeal, Cooper said that moviegoers, regardless of their ethnicity, want to be a part of the Wolfpack.

“There’s a feeling that you want to hang out with these guys,” Cooper said. “There’s a feeling of wanting to be a part of the Wolfpack, which is kind of a magical thing that was created. Also there’s this universality of physical comedy. There’s a lot of physical comedy as opposed to just verbal comedy.”

Cleveland hero Charles Ramsey is now featured in an online video game, according to WKYC.

The object of the game, “Charles Ramsey Burger Bash,” is to throw hamburgers at a character representing Ariel Castro.

Ramsey played a key role in freeing three kidnapped women.

He lived across the street from the house where Castro kept the women against their wills. The hero helped free one of the women, Amanda Berry, from the house after hearing her scream for help.

The women were all kidnapped in separate cases over 10 years ago.

The hero has been in the spotlight since helping in the rescue, and the video game, powered by nxTomo, A Next Mobile Production with Next Media Animation, is the latest in Ramsey news.

In the past few weeks, one man got Ramsey’s face tattooed on his leg and several restaurants have offered him free burgers for life.

WKYC reports there is some controversy over the new video game, saying some find it insensitive.
