Mimi Faust to write book about dating
“Love Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Mimi Faust said since being on the show, she’s busier than ever, and one of her newest business endeavors includes her penning a new book.
In a recent interview with The Jasmine Brand, Mimi discussed her life after the first season of the show, and how she felt about her portrayal throughout the season.
Mimi’s 15-year, on-again off-again relationship with music producer Stevie J, (or should we say “Steebie J”) was highly televised. The show featured him sleeping with numerous women, including fellow cast member Joseline Hernandez, outside of their relationship.
All that stress would drive any woman to want to write a book, right?
“It’s called Warning Signs, about dating men in the business. So it’s going to be very interesting,” she said.
Although Mimi didn’t reveal much about her character portrayal, she did say that in order for a reality show to be appealing, there has to be diverse personalities.
“It takes different types to make that machine run. You needed the victim, you needed the villain, [and] you needed the boss. You needed all these different characters to make the show run correctly. Once they figured out who fit which role, that’s where you stayed,” she said.
Although many viewers accused the show of being scripted, Mimi attributed its success to how real each character’s story was.
“I think it was successful because it was real. The situations were real and I don’t think people were used to seeing that,” she said.
Not only does Mimi juggle being a mom and head of her own cleaning company, she’s also designing a children’s clothing line and a home accessory line. As for her relationship with Stevie, she said because the two have to do business together regarding the show, they keep it cordial.
“He’s dad. I’m mom. We co-parent and we’re cordial,” she said.
Mimi said that since she stopped filming she’s been less stressed, but she confirmed that there will be a season two of the hit reality show and she will be returning.
Better get that stress ball ready, Mimi!
