Music Legend Praises Fried Chicken + Kid Cudi Ready To Quit Rap?!
SOHH Whatcha Think: Music Legend Praises Fried Chicken + Kid Cudi Ready To Quit Rap?!

Back when I was first introduced to Ohio rapper Kid Cudi‘s music several years ago, I swore dude was gonna be the next big thing. And while he isn’t exactly old news, he seems to be less and less interested in the game the longer he remains in it.

My suspicions were confirmed during a recent Cudi interview. The G.O.O.D. Music spitter revealed that a solo project has been put on the backburner and he doesn’t really feel inspired to create new raps much anymore.
G.O.O.D. Music artist Kid Cudi, who is coming off his successful “WZRD” release, recently sat down with Big Boy’s Neighborhood to discuss his future endeavors as far as music goes and why he hasn’t been on the mic and in the booth as of late. Cudi admitted that he hasn’t been hit by much inspiration lately, and is more likely to drop another partnered WZRD album before he begins his quest to let loose Man On The Moon 3 in 2014. He did add, however, that his voice will be heard this year, as he will be making several guest appearances before he embarks on his own upcoming projects again.(VladTV)
Listen to the interview below:
Let’s shift gears a bit. Listen. I LOVE chicken. Love it. Top 5 Dead or Alive snack, in my opinion. But am I willing to shuck and jive about my love for it … eh … probably not. Which may be why people are throwing shade at singing legend Mary J. Blige for her Burger King commercial. In the vid, Blige is seen singing her broken heart out about her lust for fried chicken.
For one of BK’s new ads, the chain tapped RB diva Mary J. Blige to peddle its new chicken snack wraps — through song, naturally. To the tune of Blige’s “Don’t Mind,” from her latest disc, “My Life II … The Journey Continues (Act 1),” she belts lyrics promoting the wrap’s “crispy chicken, fresh lettuce, three cheeses, ranch dressing, wrapped up in a tasty flour tortilla.”(LA Times Blog)
While some see it as a harmless ad campaign, others are crying Death to Autocoon. Would love to post the vid for you bruh bruhs and guh guhs, but Burger King is pulling the vids offline faster than a leaked Beiber album.
The tune is set to Mary’s “Don’t Mind,” so this is clearly a ploy to cross-promote her current My Life II…The Journey Continues (Act 1) album. But why must she soulfully croon (note that said word is one letter away from “coon”) for some glorified fried chicken? Three cheeses, tortillas and whatever ingredients are in BK’s new menu item cannot make this commercial less beneath Mary’s station in the game.(Hip Hop Wired)
SOHH Watcha Think: Is Mary’s chicken song cooning or is she just gettin’ money like a real n*gga should?
